The Slough Town Against Crime Exclusion Notice Scheme is intended to deter persons involved in crime and disorder in the retail environment.

What is an Exclusion Notice?

There is a normal invitation by retailers for members of the public to enter their premises, either to view or buy merchandise on display. The issue of a notice withdraws that invitation to the person issued with that notice.

The Slough Town Against Crime Exclusion Notice Scheme applies to businesses which are members of STAC.

Some retailers already operate similar notices, but only in relation to their own stores / shopping centres. The introduction of this scheme allows STAC members to issue an order not only excluding offenders from their store, but from all STAC premises.

Benefits of the scheme

  • To exclude prolific offenders or targets from STAC member stores.
  • To protect staff from violence or abuse.
  • To reduce crime and the fear of crime, for the benefit of staff and customers.
  • To encourage investment by creating and promoting a safer working environment.
  • To improve the economic and general environment of the town and its' future prosperity.

Who should be issued with a notice?

  • ALL offenders included in the STAC / FASST target file.
  • Any other offenders whom STAC members believe, that if excluded, this would be beneficial to the STAC partnership.

Who should not be issued with a notice?

  • Offenders who are cautioned.
  • When it is the offenders' first offence, unless it has involved violence.
  • Offenders who STAC members believe, that if excluded, this would not be beneficial to the STAC partnership.
